Male enhancement has become less of a taboo subject in the American culture recently.
Guys who had a hard time discussing it with their peers in the past, nowadays are not so ashamed.
That’s not to say we’re all pulling out rulers and having a competition for the biggest guy in the room, but we’re a bit more comfortable talking about a subject like this 20 years ago.
Going by this, alot of guys find it less embarrassing to shop for a male enhancement pill in stores, even going so far as to asking the clerk which one he likes the best.
The fact that they are also more commonplace to find in stores and that the person on the other side of the counter is less likely to sneer than ever before, men are less likely to have any qualms about buying male sexual enhancers over the counter.
I have personally gone to a wide variety of stores including Walmart, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, GNC, Rite Aid, and ton’s of others in my quest for the best supplement to use, and have come across alot of them.
The purpose of this blog post is to let you know of the various male enhancement pills you can find in these stores, which ones work the best, how much they cost, and more.
One thing I did want to note before I get started is that NONE of these pills will give you a permanent increase in size.
Rather, they are all intended to help support sexual health and well being.
If you are looking to get an increase in size, then I recommend you either check out an extender device like Phallosan Forte, or a water based vacuum pump like the Bathmate Hydromax X30.
GNC is obviously one of the largest, if not THE largest, supplement store in the country.
It makes sense that they would have a pretty large selection of male enhancement pills, and in this case, they do. I checked out my local GNC, and I found the following for sale:
Prolatis 2.0
This one left me scratching my head a bit. The first time I took Prolatis 2.0, I didn’t feel any effect at all. Mind you, I only took 2 capsules, but I did expect to see SOME result from it.
In the end, nothing…
So i decided to “up the ante” a bit and take 4 capsules the next time around, and boy was that one hell of a difference! I felt a huge surge in sexual function and desire, but this was not without a price.
I woke up the next morning after taking 4 capsules with a MIND SPLITTING headache, something that even 3 advil couldn’t control.
My guess is that maybe I got a bit dehydrated from it, but it doesn’t contain any diuretics from what I could tell, so I really have no idea what caused it. Anyways, I’m not sure if GNC sells it anymore (or anyone else for that matter), but at the time it cost around $10 for a sample pack.
This is another male enhancement pill we tried. The first time I saw it on the shelves I actually chuckled a bit. 🙂
Wasn’t this the same supplement that lost a $300,000 lawsuit because they were claiming their product gave men permanent enhancement?

This new formula, which is actually made by a different company that bought them out, apparently doesn’t promise this anymore.

Instead, they promise enhanced pleasure and performance, as well increase stamina and premature ejaculation control.
I can attest to it’s effectiveness. I’ve used it on several occasions where I needed to perform, and it did its job perfectly.
In fact, in my personal opinion Extenze is actually one of the closest things to Viagra over the counter.

Progene
Progene is actually not a male enhancement pill, but rather is categorized as a dietary supplement designed to help improve performance both in the bedroom and on the playing field.
They don’t go so far as to say that it’s a “Testosterone booster”, but the marketing sure follows that tone.
They also advertise using a testosterone home test kit while using Progene to keep an eye on your testosterone levels, so you do the math.
The ingredients in Progene include a wide array of vitamins and all natural aphrodisiacs which work to help restore energy and strength, as well as arousal and desire.
I’ve actually used Progene as well, but unfortunately did not get much of a result from it.
Most guys I have talked to that have taken it said that they also didn’t get any good results from it, but of course every individual is different.
This supplement was actually one of the first male enhancement products I’ve ever tested. As such, it’s also one of the most heavily promoted.
Magna RX+ uses ingredients like Horny Goat Weed, catuaba bark extract, maca, and l-arginine to help promote blood flow, boner quality, and control.
Unfortunately, my results were not very good. In fact, after taking the very first dose I felt a burning sensation on my tongue within a few minutes.
Fortunately that subsided after about an hour and a half, but I didn’t experience any effects in the bedroom department. Magna RX + is also one of the cheapest male enhancement pills I’ve ever bought, coming in at around $10 a bottle.

Vitalast New Vigor
While I didn’t get a chance to personally test this one out, it seemed like it was the most heavily promoted by GNC. It had about 2 slots on the shelf, and they also had a sale going on at the time.
I took to the internet to search for some reviews, and it turns out this is a pretty popular and effective male enhancement pill.
Just like Libido Max, it contains L-Arginine, which uses a process called vasodilation which allows for increased blood flow as a result of a relaxation of the smooth muscle tissue surrounding the corpora cavernosa, the chambers that fill with blood during erection. (Source)

It seems like a relatively safe formula, with the only ingredients listed as L-Arginine, L-Carnitine (an amino acid), Deer Antler Velvet, and maca root extract. It’s apparently taken as a daily formula, and is supposed to have cumulative results.
New Vigor is priced in the medium range, costing around $59.99 retail at GNC, and even cheaper if you are a member of their rewards program.
Being the biggest supplement store in the country like GNC doesn’t matter a whole lot when you can find a much cheaper version of practically the same product at your local Walmart.
Because they are so big and have such great bargaining power, they easily have the lowest prices for male enhancement pills.

Walking around my local Walmart one day, I found the following:
Libido Max
The one that stood out to me first was a supplement called Libido Max. I have personally used Libido Max in the past, and while the side effects were quite unpleasant, it does work well to give you temporary enhancement and a raging hardon.
In fact, I would go so far as to say that it’s one of the best boner pills I’ve ever tested, and I’ve tested a lot.
It uses all natural ingredients like maca powder, l-arginine, yohimbe (that’s what causes the side effects), and horny goat weed.
The first time I took it I got REALLY horny, but REALLY sick at the same time.
It’s a hard feeling to describe, and you can read more about that in my full and comprehensive review. Libido max is one of the cheapest male enhancement pills you will find in Walmart, priced out at an average of $17 for 75 capsules.
I fully recommend that you talk to your doctor before taking this! It’s packed with tons of Yohimbe, which is a very effective sexual aphrodisiac, but can also cause some REALLY bad side effects.

Cyvita
This supplement says it’s clinically proven to help you last longer, have more powerful orgasms, and allow you to achieve overall better sexual performance. Unfortunately for them, myself and other reviewers from Walmart found that this was not really the case.
To start, the cyvita pills are absolutely HUGE. Huge is probably an understatement, I think they are the biggest pills I have ever attempted to swallow.
Second, if you’re looking for something to start working quickly (like 30 – 45 min.) you should look elsewhere. They take as much as 2 weeks to start noticing results, and by that time you won’t be able to take advantage of their money back guarantee.
You can find Cyvita for sale in most Walmart stores for as little as $15.
Zyrexin
Another one you’ll find on the shelves of Walmart is Zyrexin, which labels itself as the “worlds strongest sexual enhancer”.
I’ve taken Zyrexin as well, and while I wouldn’t call it the worlds best, it definitely works fast!
I started feeling the effects of it within 15 min., and had a raging hardon within 30 minutes tops. Just like Libido Max, Zyrexin contains yohimbe as well, which makes it effective but also has the chance for side effects.
You can find Zyrexin REALLY cheap at Walmart, at an average price of $11 for a 10 tablet count bottle. Keep in mind though that, on a per pill basis, it actually turns out to be one of the more expensive male enhancement pills in Walmart.
Store #3 – Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Kroger, and Vitamin Shoppe
Sometimes price isn’t an issue, but rather convenience takes precedence.
If you don’t feel like taking the long drive to your local walmart, or don’t have a GNC located near your home, you might want to consider these male enhancement pills at your local Walgreens, CVS pharmacy, and Rite Aid.
Virmax DS
While I didn’t get a chance to personally try this one, the reviews were actually pretty good so I decided to look into it more.
Virmax DS is a once daily formula which uses many of the same ingredients found in alot of the other products on this page, but also has a proprietary blend of ingredients that we couldn’t find much info on.
Some guys even seem to think that it not only helped the in the bedroom, but also gave them increased energy and focus for the gym. This leads me to believe the ginkgo biloba and l-lysine are whats probably causing this increase in energy, but it could be one of their “secret” ingredients as well.
You can find Virmax DS relatively cheap, with a bottle of 60 pills costing around $18.
MD Science Labs Max Hard
I only got a chance to try the sample pack of 2 capsules of Max Hard, and personally think it was one of the best over the counter ED pills that Walgreens has to offer. Max hard contains a number of all natural ingredients like Tribulus Terrestris, Ginseng, Horny Goat Weed (see below), and Yohimbe.
I personally didn’t experience the nasty side effects from yohimbe as much as I did with Libido Max, and the sexual stimulation was probably about a 7/10.

Extenze Liquid
Made by the same guys that brought you Extenze original and fast acting, Extenze liquid is literally just the liquid version of their product.I came across it last week when I was picking up a prescription at Walgreens, and said “what the hell, let me give it a shot”.
The main benefit to this “new and improved” version is that it works MUCH faster than pills do. The reason why is because some of the ingredients are absorbed literally as soon as you take your first sip.
If you let some of the liquid sit under your tongue for just a minute or so (if you can stand the taste, which isn’t very good IMO), the ingredients get pulled into the bloodstream faster.
I actually got a chance to try it out recently, but haven’t gotten around to posting my full results with it yet. Let me just say this for now, it works. ALMOST TOO GOOD!
I’ll get a full review of it up soon where you can read more. You can buy Extenze liquid at most major chains like Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Vitamin Shoppe, and even Kroger.
Horny Goat Weed
There are alot of different brands that have Horny goat weed (aka Epimedium) in their supplement, but taking Horny Goat Weed on its own also has some benefits. The story behind epimedium is actually kind of funny.
Apparently, some 500 years ago a chinese farmer was moving a herd of Goats along a mountainside and notice that they started to copulate more frequently when they stopped to chew on some grass in the region. He tried chewing some himself, and noticed that he got hornier as well.
Horny goats and weed, get it? 🙂
The most popular brand of horny goat weed I could find is made by a company called Windmill Health Products, and you can find it on the shelves of your local CVS or Walgreens for as little as $8 a bottle.
Ageless Male
This product is actually not sold specifically as a male enhancement pill, but rather is supposed to work to increase your all natural testosterone levels.
With increased testosterone comes increased sexual arousal and libido. This is a proven fact…
Now, I took ageless male for a period of one month and actually got pretty decent results with it, despite alot of other reviews saying it doesn’t do anything. That said, it’s not something that will work right away, so if your looking for a fast acting enhancer, look elsewhere.
However, during my test I noticed a huge surge in my overall energy levels, as well as heightened sexual stamina. The idea behind this all natural formula is that the ingredients work to boost strength, lean muscle mass, and overall free testosterone levels.
Vitamin Shoppe sells it for about $36, and there was a period of time where they were “giving away” free trials of their supplement.
However, if you come across a free trial of it, I would not even waste your time because it could end up costing you a pretty penny. Check out my full review here.
Other Stores (7-11, Liquor Stores, and Gas stations)
Some guys are just looking for something that is grab and go. You might be getting ready for a night out on the town and think you might be getting lucky. So you pop into your local 7-11 or gas station to pick up a pre-game six pack, and you’ll find a number of male enhancement pills often stacked up on a display on the counter.
One thing I want to note about these particular male enhancement pills is that they are fast acting, which means they are intended to start working in an hour or less. Often these fast acting supplements have side effects like rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, and a host of others, so use caution when ordering.
Here’s a few of them we’ve tested.
Virmax 8 Hour
This supplement supposedly lasts the longest, but when I took it this wasn’t the case. Virmax 8 hour is supposed to last, well, 8 hours….or in my case about 2 hours.
Composed primarily of ingredients like L-Arginine, Horny Goat Weed, and Ginkgo Biloba, it’s supposed to start working quickly and while it did produce a noticeable response to me, it didn’t last nearly as long as I thought it would.
You can find Virmax for sale at your local 7-11, but it’s REALLY expensive, coming in at around $5 for 2 pills.
Mojo Risen
“Go BIG and STRONG…all night long!” proclaims the label of this male enhancement pill.
Mojo Risen claims to be a revolutionary formula that helps to support sexual stamina, performance, and pleasure. I had a chance to try it out, and personally it did NOTHING for me.
I didn’t feel any effects, even after taking 2 capsules which is nearly double the daily dosage (say that 3 times fast).
I bought it at a local gas station for about $6, and despite the fact that it didn’t work for me, they are still selling it there to this day.
Even the clerk told me some guys buy it every week, so at least it’s working for someone.
P Boost
Unlike Mojo Risen, I did get GREAT results with P Boost. Found in local gas stations and 7-11 stores, P boost contains all natural ingredients that simulate the effects of using a prescription medicine like Cialis.
And there is a reason behind that….because it contains the same damn ingredients in Cialis!! An FDA laboratory test confirmed that the makers of P Boost were illegally injecting the ingredient Tadalafil into their product in an effort to make it work.
Unfortunately for them, this is VERY illegal, and they were forced to pull their product off the shelves. They came up with a new (tadalafil free) version of their supplement, and I tried that as well. However, and to no surprise, it didn’t work nearly as effective as the original version.
You can still find it floating around in stores, but I would tell you to shy away from it.
#1 – Be Careful Of Certain Over The Counter Male Enhancement Pills
Some pills that I’ve used from personal testing ended up having illegal ingredients injected into them.
In an effort to make a pill that will work great for sex, a lot of these companies will ILLEGALLY and KNOWINGLY inject substanceslike sildenafil and tadalafil into their products.
If you weren’t already aware, sildenafil is the active ingredient in Viagra, and can cause a whole host of side effects including blurred vision, sudden drop in blood pressure, and visual disturbances.
There’s a reason why you need a prescription to get drugs like this!
Most, if not ALL, of these male enhancement supplements can be found in either Gas Stations or Liquor Stores.
Try them if you will, but you’ll be taking your life in your hands and risking some pretty SEVERE side effects. You can read about them by scrolling down to the reviews on the page, they’re not very pretty!
#2 – None Of These Will Grow Your P#$is!
Despite the marketing behind most of these pills, NONE of them will give you any considerable increase in size.
At best, you’ll get a GREAT erection from them.
At worse, they either won’t work at ALL, or may even give you some nasty side effects.
Luckily most of these don’t make claims of size increases, I just wanted to give you a heads up.
#3 – If You Find Something That Works, Buy It Online
If you decide to pick up any of these male enhancement pills at your local convenience store, and it works well, next time buy it online.
You’ll normally be able to find it MUCH cheaper than you would in a store, and will save you the hassle of having to drive.
It also saves you the slight embarrassment.

Recommendation
As you can see from the big list above, there are tons of male enhancement supplements available at local stores like GNC, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid, and many of them are available cheap because of the sheer buying power of these retailers.
However, for some guys pride and ego get in the way of even stepping foot into one of these stores. I mean, it would be kind of embarrassing to grab one of these pills off the shelf and then walk up to the counter, only to find a woman old enough to be your mom manning the register.
I can understand the sentiment of wanting to keep those aspects of personal health, well, personal.
If that’s the case then we recommend you check out some of the most effective male enhancement pills I’ve personally tested out, that can be purchased conveniently and discreetly online.
That way you can save yourself the embarrassment of running into your old high school buddy who see’s your pack of libido max in your cart. 🙂

My husband was using the local gas station to get a pill call Control. Unfortunately he was taking this pill for his sexual enhancement but Im thinking it has caused him to have an erectile dysfunction. Do you know anything about this pill? The side effects of the pill? I hadn't heard of it before, but a quick search turned up the fact that Control has been recalled by the FDA for containing an undisclosed prescription ingredient. It basically means it contains the same ingredient as Viagra. I don't see how it could cause erectile dysfunction. But if you're looking for an effective natural solution, check out VigRx Plus.- Rob

All of the sudden I have a hard time getting and keeping a erection. I bought some of the Extenze liquid shots and it came with two Soft gel caps. Do I drink one of those and take a gel cap with it? Also how long will it take to get an erection and will I be able to sustain it? Thank you -Greg
Don't take the pills at the same time as the shot. Take them on separate occasions. When you use the shot, you should start to feel a libido and energy increase in about 10 minutes, with full erectile benefits in about half an hour.- Rob

I have high blood pressure and take medication. (Valsarton/hctz 320mg/25mg) Can I take either of these products: Vigrx Plus or Extense Plus or Entended Release. I just want to get a solid erection. -Gary
I would advise you to stay away from the Extenze products because they contain Yohimbe, which could interfere with your condition and/or your medication. As for the VigRx Plus, you may be fine, but please check with your doctor before starting it. He or she will know all the potential conflicts of your particular situation.- Rob

Have you tested the new libagrow XXX? I've used it for a lill while and it doesn't make a big fuss about making a porn star out of you. But it's very effective and I've had not one single side effect or problem other than a stuff breeze or pants rubbing and triggering it. It's 100% no side effects and the claims of lasting 3-4 days isn't a bogus claim. Can you help some of the guys out with this that's looking for a cheaper but effective route? There were problems with the first batches of lib a year or so back but it's better and more effective and they've changed the whole formula as well. If guys like me who don't want to go broke doing this, this maybe their answer. Is like to see what you think about it.

Is the Bathmate Hydromax discrete enough in a carry on bag to pass through TSA airport security? I have not yet, but I think it would be really embarrassing if a TSA screener has to stop the X-ray to investigate my carry on to open my bag and pull a Bathmate device out!
I usually travel light with just a carry on bag when I take flights out of town. When you’re traveling, have you ever gone through airport security with the Bathmate Hydromax in your carry on bag?

Great question, I’m surprised it hasn’t been asked before. I have a picture of the carrying case in my full Bathmate review, check it out here. Personally, I have never traveled with the Bathmate (http://www.OfficialHydromaxPump.com) via airplane, so I couldn’t really tell you how TSA would respond from firsthand experience.
It comes with a lock, but if you’re carrying it on I wouldn’t suggest locking it up, as TSA might just bust the lock if they want to see what’s in there.
With all of this said, to avoid the embarrassment I would recommend just checking the bag. If TSA is gonna go through it, at least you’ll have the piece of mind of not being around when they pull it out. It’s totally legal to fly with, and in my personal opinion, it doesn’t really even looking like a traditional penis pump.

I would recommend you check out either a supplement called Vigrx Plus, or a supplement called Hardon Helper. The benefit to Vigrx Plus is that, while you have to take it everyday to get the best results, the effects are enormous. The benefit to Hardon Helper are that you just need to take it on an “as-needed” basis like 1 hour prior to sexual activity.
Either one will give you GREAT results, it’s just a matter of personal preference. Here’s my reviews of each:

If you’re looking for size increases, you’ve got a few options.
First off, I would recommend you pick up either a water based pump called the Bathmate, or an extender device called Phallosan Forte. Personally speaking, I prefer the Bathmate. It’s easier to use, you only need to use it for 10 – 15 min. a day (as opposed to 4 – 6 HOURS a day with the extender), and it’s cheaper.

Most of the premature ejaculation supplements I’ve tested in stores aren’t very good, but some of the creams are actually pretty potent. Check out KY Duration Male Desensitizer, they sell it in CVS, Target, Walmart, etc., and it will help you last a pretty long time.

Depends on which product you’re referring to. You’d likely be fine with Vigrx Plus or Hardon Helper. However, many of the pills in the review above contain yohimbe, which can be dangerous if you have high blood pressure.

Good question. Check out a supplement called Prosolution Plus. It’s the only supplement I’m aware of that actually had a clinical study conducted, proving it helps with PE problems.
Unfortunately, there is no pill that can grow your size. Pills are more about enhancing performance. If you’re concerned about size, check out a device called Phallosan Forte or a water pump from Bathmate called the Hydromax Xtreme.

I took with a meal each time and had that same meal all three times as I was going to see if it had same results with same amount of food and all that. Was kind of surprised it worked well the first time and it didn’t do anything the following times.

Yeah both of those products were found to contain Sildenafil, which is the active ingredient in Viagra. The closest thing to Viagra that I’ve personally tested is a combo of a male enhancer called Extenze Plus, along with a substance called Phenibut.

Unfortunately, the cheaper ones tend to be crap for the most part. And you’re right about Yohimbe. It can cause some nasty side effects, but it does help a lot when you’re looking for something fast acting. To that end, check out Extenze Extended Release. It’s marketed as an every day supplement, but because of the yohimbe, it is fast acting as well. I’d say give it a try. If you’re healthy and don’t take medication, there’s a good chance you won’t get side effects.

The purpose of this blog post is to let you know of the various male enhancement pills you can find in these stores, which ones work the best, how much they cost, and more.
This supplement was actually one of the first male enhancement products I’ve ever tested. As such, it’s also one of the most heavily promoted.
The one that stood out to me first was a supplement called Libido Max. I have personally used Libido Max in the past, and while the side effects were quite unpleasant, it does work well to give you temporary enhancement and a raging hardon.
This supplement says it’s clinically proven to help you last longer, have more powerful orgasms, and allow you to achieve overall better sexual performance. Unfortunately for them, myself and other reviewers from Walmart found that this was not really the case.
Another one you’ll find on the shelves of Walmart is Zyrexin, which labels itself as the “worlds strongest sexual enhancer”.
While I didn’t get a chance to personally try this one, the reviews were actually pretty good so I decided to look into it more.
This supplement supposedly lasts the longest, but when I took it this wasn’t the case. Virmax 8 hour is supposed to last, well, 8 hours….or in my case about 2 hours.

Is the Bathmate Hydromax discrete enough in a carry on bag to pass through TSA airport security? I have not yet, but I think it would be really embarrassing if a TSA screener has to stop the X-ray to investigate my carry on to open my bag and pull a Bathmate device out!
I usually travel light with just a carry on bag when I take flights out of town. When you’re traveling, have you ever gone through airport security with the Bathmate Hydromax in your carry on bag?

Great question, I’m surprised it hasn’t been asked before. I have a picture of the carrying case in my full Bathmate review, check it out here. Personally, I have never traveled with the Bathmate (http://www.OfficialHydromaxPump.com) via airplane, so I couldn’t really tell you how TSA would respond from firsthand experience.
It comes with a lock, but if you’re carrying it on I wouldn’t suggest locking it up, as TSA might just bust the lock if they want to see what’s in there.
With all of this said, to avoid the embarrassment I would recommend just checking the bag. If TSA is gonna go through it, at least you’ll have the piece of mind of not being around when they pull it out. It’s totally legal to fly with, and in my personal opinion, it doesn’t really even looking like a traditional penis pump.

The benefit to Vigrx Plus is that, while you have to take it everyday to get the best results, the effects are enormous. The benefit to Hardon Helper are that you just need to take it on an “as-needed” basis like 1 hour prior to sexual activity.

Do you know of a product for PE that is fast acting and can also be bought in stores?
Most of the premature ejaculation supplements I’ve tested in stores aren’t very good, but some of the creams are actually pretty potent. Check out KY Duration Male Desensitizer, they sell it in CVS, Target, Walmart, etc., and it will help you last a pretty long time.

Try taking it on an empty stomach, it seems to work best that way. You can give Zyrexin a try, just try to take the smallest possible dose.
