Erexa Review – Erexa Recalled
By: Rob MillerErexa Overview
I swear it seems like every other male enhancement product that I look into these days has been recalled or otherwise taken off the market. Unfortunately, in an unregulated market such as this one, it’s pretty standard practice. While over-the-counter and prescription drugs are highly regulated by the FDA, supplements don’t require their approval, so they just head straight to the shelves (or the airwaves or the bandwidth as the case may be). This leads to the kind of situation that Erexa found itself in.
Erexa was a male enhancement supplement just like (and competing against) hundreds of others. It claimed to increase your libido, give you the ability to get bigger, harder, more frequent erections, eliminate premature ejaculation, and have you lasting just as long as you want to. It was a daily supplement, and you would feel the effects begin within a couple days.
In 2009, the parent company, Atlas Operations, put out a voluntary recall for Erexa and many other products after the FDA found them to contain an undisclosed ingredient, a derivative of Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra. Sildanafil and its derivatives require a prescription for use.
Erexa Ingredients and How They Work
Erexa had a public list of ingredients and apparently a private list as well. The public list included such natural substances as Wolfberry, Saffron Crocus, Oysters, and Bombyx Mori. Not a particularly impressive list. But that didn’t matter because the power was in the privately held ingredient, the Sildanafil derivative. This is a PDE5 inhibitor that prohibits blood from flowing back out of the penis once it enters during the erection process.
Instructions were to take Erexa daily, though how many tablets remains unclear.
Erexa Pros and Cons
Advantages of Erexa
- None that we see.
Disadvantages of Erexa
- It’s no longer available.
- It was recalled because it contained an undisclosed, potentially dangerous ingredient. Several other of the company’s products (perhaps all?) were also recalled for the same reason. This makes it hard to trust the company.
Atlas Operations appears to no longer be operating.
Where to Buy
Erexa appears not to be available to purchase any longer.
Conclusion
I wish I could say that this is an isolated case of a rogue company getting away with skirting the law for a while until they got caught. But it’s not. This happens all the time, and Erexa is just one example. Always read your labels, and if something seems too good to be true, realize that it probably is.
