DG Health Sleep Aid is cheap and available at the Dollar General. But does it work? We took a look and we’ll let you know what we found out.
DG Health Sleep Aid Ingredients and How They Work
The chief active ingredient in DG Health Sleep Aid is 25mg of Diphenhydramine HCl . Basically, it’s an antihistimine like you’d find in the Benadryl you use to fight allergy symptoms. It’s also very similar to the motion sickness ingredient in Dramamine, and it’s used in some treatments for Parkinson’s Disease. In addition to its other uses, Diphenhydramine HCl is used in DG Health Sleep Aid and other over-the-counter sleep aid formulas for occasional use at bed time when needed. The recommended dose for adults and children over 12 is 2 caplets.
DG Health Sleep Aid Side Effects
The dose is relatively low, so side effects are mild. Of course, they include sleepiness, but that’s what you’re looking for. It may also cause slight dizziness . Because of its tendency to cause drowsiness, you won’t want to drink alcohol, drive, or operate machinery while taking DG Health Sleep Aid.
